LATEST WORK: Nikon – COOLPIX L610 Launch

by Corey Rich

This summer I had the pleasure to shoot for the launch of the Nikon COOLPIX L610, one of the newest editions to the Nikon COOLPIX family.  This camera is all about capturing the action; it really does allow you to forget about camera settings and focus on the fun.

My assignment was to highlight a handful of the new features in the camera.  Our shot list included a water ballon fight, mountain biking, waterskiing, skateboarding, rock climbing, and hiking.  Certainly a dream list of activities to shoot. Overall it was refreshing to not have to manage multiple lenses and camera bodies and eliminate the need to carry a full kit out on location. Obviously there is a time and place for both point-and-shoot and DSLR’s.

The water ballon fight was defintely one of the highlight scenarios. We gathered a bunch of boys from the neighborhood and headed to the lake.  Turns out it’s not that hard to convince teenage boys to huck water balloons at one another for three hours. We produced both stills and a video for the water balloon fight sequence.  We were very impressed with the video quality and the sound quality when filming this scene.
