“A New Perspective” continues to find its way into various mountain and adventure film festivals around the world. At Leggimontagna, an Italian festival that recognizes works of journalism, literature and film, “A New Perspective” was one of three films to be awarded by a jury on September 22. Jenni Long received the award on behalf of Corey Rich Productions and Moving Adventures. Jenni is a producer at Moving Adventures, and she was integral in producing the edit of “A New Perspective” for the film-festival cut.
“A New Perspective” is a film about two of the world’s best young alpinists, David Lama and Peter Ortner, and their ascent of one of the great peaks of the world: Trango Tower in Pakistan. I joined David and Peter during their ascent, documenting the adventure while I climbed alongside them. The ascent was but one part of Mammut’s incredible 150 Peaks Project in 2012.
This trip to Pakistan, in the summer of 2011, was a mind-blowing and transformative experience for me. Not just in terms of finally visiting an area of the world I’d always wanted to see, but also in terms of the techniques our small-footprint production team used to capture aerial climbing footage at well over 19,000 feet. We brought in remote drones to obtain a rare perspective, and coordinated with our 21-year-old RC pilot Remo Masina, who flew the drones from basecamp, via walkie-talkie while we were up on the mountain.

Hallo
I write from Slovakia, town of Zilina. It was very nice to see your film „A NEW PERSPECTIVE“ on International Festival of Mountains in Poprad and that´s why I m contacting you (the contact I ve got from Mrs.Hamor, the director of Poprad s fest). I would like to ask you to introduce your film on a similar festival in Žilina now (march 2014). Our festival “High Mountains” has a competitionless trait and it´s free for a wide public. Your film surelly would be a great inspiration for many visitors and a nice bonus for the festival.
Your dvd we can get from Mrs.Hamor”, we need just your approval …
hopeful of your “yes” and many thanks for your answer
best from Žilina
