I’m very excited to share a recent project that’s getting some huge exposure. As part of the current Travel Nevada campaign, this national television commercial is currently airing in 49 states and a number of different countries.
What made this truly rewarding was being a part of a great team, joining Director Dane Henry of Deep Roots Media and Todd Fishbaugher, Creative Director of the Nevada Commission on Tourism on the project. In addition to shooting video, my office handled several aspects of the production; talent casting, wardrobe and prop styling, hair and makeup, locations, permits and payroll. Deep Roots Media handled all creative, editing, color grading and sound mastering with very impressive results.
As testament to the current state of technology, as well as the leadership and creative vision of the crew, we were able to approach this project in an entirely new way. Shooting in high-definition on DSLR cameras allowed us to function with a very small footprint and focus on being creative. We did not look like a “Hollywood” production while on location, but the creative certainly didn’t suffer for this. In fact, we were able to be much more nimble, efficient and swift because we weren’t bogged down by the confines of a traditional, large crew production. As yet another sign of the changing roles and responsibilities in my transition towards the world of motion, I did not shoot a single still frame on this production.
