Arriving in mailboxes across the country is the new Road Runner Sports catalog, featuring one of my images on the cover. This was shot in San Diego during my third assignment for the catalog. Over the last few years, as I have done more catalog work, I've had to learn that the calendar is not always what it seems. Because of the lead time necessary to allow for planning, layout and printing, we are often creating images for holiday catalogs in the summer and looking for sunny locales in December for the summer edition. It adds a fun, new dimension to planning for a shoot.
I just recently made the most of the fleeting snow in Tahoe to shoot the Fall 2008 catalog. You'd never guess I was behind the camera wearing shorts.
