After nearly losing our town to the Caldor Fire, I’m so excited to see the return of community events in South Lake Tahoe!
My good friend Timmy O’Neill is organizing a fundraiser on October 16 for the Yosemite Climbing Associate (YCA), the organization responsible for putting on the Yosemite Facelift, which is the best climber clean-up event in the world, and established the historic Yosemite Climbing Museum in Mariposa, CA.
As climbing gets younger and bigger each year, it’s so important to make sure that we stay connected to our roots, especially in a place like Yosemite, where so much important history happened. The Climbing Museum is such a great resource that I’m psyched to support through the YCA.
This year, Tommy Caldwell will be giving a short presentation and the Robin Orr band will be providing live music. There will be raffles and auctions, food and drinks, and every guest will receive a classic print from the Yosemite Climbing Museum archive.
Given all that has happened this summer around Tahoe, I’m confident this event is going to be the community event and party of the year! Do not miss it! There are only 100 tickets available, so be sure to reserve yours today!
