I was happy to see that the new Patagonia holiday catalog decided to use one of my photos from my recent trip to the island of Malta with Sonnie Trotter, Tommy Caldwell and Becca Caldwell. Upon opening the new catalog and seeing this shot, I just remembered how much fun that trip really was.
We found this cool, visually stunning old limestone quarry and decided it would be a fantastic place to capture some unique climbing photos. Climbing here was actually illegal, but we abided by the mantra that it’s better to beg for forgiveness than ask permission. Besides, who’s ever heard anything bad about Maltese prisons? Not us!
Fortunately no one got arrested, and we came away with some great pictures, one of which is now in this new catalog.
In my post about Malta earlier this year, I vowed that I return here once Marina and I, and Tommy and Becca each had our first borns. This year, Becca and Tommy gave birth to Fitz. And less than a few months later, Marina and I were blessed with a daughter, Leila. Now I’m looking forward to returning to Malta with our families. This stunning destination is the perfect spot for a family/climbing trip.
