NEWS: Introducing CRP’s Newest Rock Stars

by Corey Rich

I’ve been sitting at my desk for the last few days, trying to unbury myself from email, and I’ve realized that I’ve probably written this sentence at least 200 times:

Super sorry for the slow reply. I’ve been gone for the last 3 months, and I’m just now digging myself out.

It’s true. The past three months have flown by in a whirlwind of travel, production and really fun projects that have taken me around the world and back again. But in the midst of all the chaos, I just realized that I’ve neglected to introduce our two newest team members here at Corey Rich Productions.

Kristin Barry is joining us from Salt Lake City as our Production and Marketing Coordinator, picking up where our former production coordinator Julia Arcamone left off now that she has made her own transition to the East Coast. Julia was with us for many years, and left some pretty big shoes to fill, but I’m really happy to see that Kristin has quickly proven herself to be an absolute rock star. Next time you call our office, make sure you give a special hello and welcome to Kristin.

Kristin was born and raised in Salt Lake in the shadow of the Wasatch Mountains, where she gained a love and appreciation for the outdoors—swimming in alpine lakes, hiking, camping and enjoying the outdoors. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in mass communication with an emphasis in journalism from the University of Utah. (She’s as die-hard a fan as it gets, and it’s getting serious, Utah is currently 6-1 – Go Utes!) Her husband, Conor, is also a photographer and avid outdoorsman, and so far both Kristin and Conor having seamlessly integrated into our South Lake Tahoe community. Welcome!!

Next is our intern, Jose Borda, who is joining us from Monterrey, Mexico. Jose has earned the recognition for officially becoming our first international intern. He and his father drove from Monterrey to Tahoe together. When his father walked into the office in a three-piece suit and shook my hand, I knew that we’d made the right decision to bring Jose out here.

Sure enough, Jose’s work has been invaluable to keeping our productions operating. He’s also logged some serious time on the road for us. First, he drove a truck full of our grip and lighting equipment from Portland, Oregon, back to Tahoe. Then, two weeks later, he loaded the gear back into the truck, and brought it out to Nebraska for two weeks of shooting on a top-secret project.

Both Jose and Kristin, coincidentally, began their positions right at the beginning of these last three, crazy months. This was no easy, mellow transition for them with a bunch of hand-holding. They jumped right into the deep end, and have both proven themselves to be up to the challenge of working at CRP. Without these two, I know our business wouldn’t have operated so smoothly, but they’ve kept the gears running, the social-media outpouring, and all our regular operations, from pre- to post-production, going without a hitch.

So, welcome to Jose and Kristin. Brace yourselves. We’ve got a lot more adventure coming up quick.

Corey, looks like a great group you have surrounded yourself with. I’m not sure what could possibly be ‘secret’ out in my great state of Nebraska, but if you are ever in the Omaha area, beers are on me.
