In launching their new model year, VW needed a personality to align with their powerful, efficient diesel engines. Who do you call on to represent a car that runs for a really long time? None other then the Ultramarathon Man himself, Dean Karnazes!
I shot the image on the card above in Bristol, NH while working with Dean and The North Face during the Endurance 50. Not only was this an amazing project, but as well, was a great opportunity to spend some time with Dean and his family. Years later, he continues to be a huge inspiration.
As part of his ongoing effort to share a love of running with others, Dean will be in Chicago next weekend for the Chicago Marathon. Stop by the VW booth at the Health and Fitness Expo where Dean will be providing pre-race inspiration and signing autograph cards.
