Watch out, Warren Miller. Dane Henry is in the house.
Head over to this cool Kirkwood Mountain site and check out three new featured skiing videos, which were shot by my close friend Dane Henry. If these videos don’t make you want to jump out of your desk chair, grab your skis or snowboard, and do some extreme snow sliding, then you should probably go see the doctor because there’s something wrong with you.
It has been an honor and pleasure to become really close friends with Dane over the last decade that I’ve lived in Lake Tahoe. When I met Dane, he immediately struck me as super enthusiastic, creative and passionate. Plus, he’s a good guy. Those are the crucial ingredients I look for in creative business colleagues, and friends.
Dane and I have obviously shot together a ton around Lake Tahoe, but we’ve also been to the jungles of Mexico, the highlands of Scotland, the Dolomites of Italy, and even up north to the periphery of the Arctic Circle.
Watching these videos not only energized me to do some skiing this winter but they also reminded me what a unique time it is to live in Lake Tahoe: to be surrounded by such an amazing community of incredibly talented and gifted photographers and filmmakers in such a stunning geographic location. I feel lucky to live here in this moment in time and be immersed in such a creative, passionate community of storytellers and athletes. Sharing the stoke, getting inspired, getting the shot and putting together compelling stories is what it’s all about. Hat’s off to Dane Henry for his awesome job doing just that.

What some awesome videos. I love em – they really do set you on fire to get out there and ski – like right now. Also I just love Kirkwood. There is nothing like going there after a good dump and just ripping the place up. What a wonderful mountain – from the Palisades to Faun Ridge on the backside – and everything in between – it has some great stuff to ski. It is for sure my go to place to ski after a good snowfall.
Hats off to Dane for these videos. They are awesome and inspiring.
