LATEST WORK: The Gift of Stock Photography

by Corey Rich

One of the things I love about stock photography is the surprise of seeing an old photo repurposed in a new way.

After two weeks away on an assignment in Argentina, I returned home last weekend and was delighted to see one of my favorite photos on the cover of the new REI catalog. I originally shot this picture of local family friends Dylan and Ryan Zellers, and Tenaya Strandteiner, several years ago for a The North Face campaign. To see these three incredible kids smiling outdoors, and having fun, brought back some great memories of being in Red Rocks with the Zeller and Strandteiner families.

Seeing these three smiling faces of Dylan, Ryan and Tenaya is even more meaningful now that I’m a father myself. I’m reminded that it’s my job to make sure my daughter, Leila, is having as much fun outdoors in wild places as these kids are. That’s what the holiday spirit is all about: having fun and adventure in wild places with your kids.

Happy holidays, everyone!

It was really cool to see one your images in my local newspaper!! I noticed an ad for a local outdoor sporting goods store. Checked the credit and noticed it was your image.
