The Yosemite Film Festival kicks off this weekend, and I’m honored to be part of it. The festival runs June 25–28 in Yosemite Valley — four days of films, conversations, and community, all organized through the Yosemite Climbing Association. This is exactly the kind of gathering our community needs more of.
I’ll be presenting this weekend and signing books at the auditorium on Saturday at 4 p.m. Come say hello! See full schedule and get tickets here.

I was also honored to see that the festival chose to use a couple of images of me photat work. The first is a fun set up I used to capture none other than Alex Honnold free soloing in Joshua Tree.
The other is of me photographing the late Mitch Underhill for their festival poster. Mitch was a Tahoe legend, a dear friend, and someone I still miss. He passed away unexpectedly in 2013. One of the things I love most about photography is its ability to hold onto people and moments long after they’re gone. The photo itself was taken by my friend and business partner Jose Azel — founder of Aurora Photos and co-founder of Novus Select — who is one of the sharpest photographers and most thoughtful collaborators I’ve ever worked with. I’m glad both of them are part of this story.

I’m also genuinely excited to finally see Frost — the documentary about my late friend Tom Frost. I was honored to play a small part in that film, and the reviews have been incredible. This weekend will be my first chance to see it on the big screen.
