There is no doubt that the gear available to us today allows for some amazing adventures. That said, more important than the newest binding or lightest boot, there is nothing better than having a great friend along for the action. Whether a casual hike up a nearby peak for some backcountry turns, or a full epic in some wild place, good travel companions are essential.
This photo of my great friend, Todd Offenbacher, running in the current Mountain Gear catalog, was taken on one of our favorite ski tour – Carson Pass to Kirkwood. Great friends, bluebird skies and not a care in the world.
