Nikon - Europe

Next time you're in Europe, shopping for a new lens or camera body, look around. You may see a familiar face. Point of sale banners in Nikon retailers throughout Europe now feature me, camera in hand, as I capture images in a variety of settings. The credit for the photos goes to three great friends. Jose Azel shot the photo on the left in the Sierra. Todd Offenbacher took the middle image while we traveled through Peru. Trevor Clark captured the image on the right here in Tahoe.

Next week, I'm off to Yosemite for Nikon to shoot HD video with their D90 camera. Look for that to be featured on their website in the near future.

Craghoppers - Bear Grylls

Ever dreamed of being like Bear Grylls, but can’t stomach the idea of eating worms? This Spring, thanks to Craghoppers, a UK based clothing company, you can!

In conjunction with their introduction to the US market, Craghoppers has introduced the Bear Grylls clothing line. I saw some of these clothes in action first hand while I worked with Bear in Panama, Patagonia and Oregon, shooting for the Discovery Channel. A selection of my images are featured in the current Craghoppers catalog and website.

Later this month, I will be traveling to the Florida Everglades, shooting for an upcoming Craghoppers campaign, channeling my own inner Bear as I wade through the swamps.

Lowepro - Photographer Profile

As part of a re-design of their website, Lowepro now dedicates part of the home page to a "Featured Photographer". I was very honored to learn that I was granted top billing for the roll out of this new segment.

Additionally, as a long time user of Lowepro gear, and someone who truly puts it to the test, I have begun consulting with the design team on product enhancements. When you're hanging in place, working to capture the perfect image, it's essential that ALL your gear be as effective and efficient as possible.

Also of note - Although the photo credit on the site has my name, the photo was actually taken by great friend and Aurora photographer, Trevor Clark. Thanks Trevor!

Boy's Life - Photo Tips

For the April 2009 issue of Boy's Life, I was asked to provide a set of photography tips and images to the Scouts to help them in capturing pictures of their own adventures. I really enjoy writing and speaking on photography and the steps it took to get me where I am today. This was very cool to be able to share all of this with the kids.

In working with Boy Scouts of America on many occasions over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with some great groups of kids in some wonderful locations. No matter if we’re climbing Mt. Rainier, canoeing the rivers of Montana or hiking the Appalachian Trail, I am always inspired by the enthusiasm they bring to the outdoors.
