For their May/June issue, the editors of American Photo tapped a handful of photographers, including yours truly, for the feature, “The 10 Places You Must Photograph”. Although I've traveled the world and seen some amazing landscapes, nothing compares with what I have right here at home, the High Sierra. There is an alpine glow before dawn and after sunset that is phenomenal. It creates something magical.

Other locations include Zambia, as chosen by Francesco Lagnese and Frans Lanting's pick, The Galapagos Islands.

Discovery Channel - Bear is back!

The second national ad from my work for the Discovery Channel’s Man vs. Wild is now in circulation. The ad has appeared in several magazines including Outside, Wired, and Men's Journal.

This portrait was taken during my second shoot with Bear Grylls. This time, we traveled to the Patagonia range in Argentina. In theme with the nature of the show, we dealt with some tough conditions including driving rain, heavy snow and 100+ MPH winds. Despite Mother Nature's best efforts to derail us, we walked away with some great images.

Men's Journal - A Grand Expedition

Last fall, I accompanied rock climbing legends Beth Rodden, Tommy Caldwell and Chris McNamara on an 18 day Grand Canyon rafting and climbing trip down the Colorado River in quest for unclimbed rock. This was truly a trip to remember. I was surrounded by great friends, blue skies and the towering canyon walls.

Men's Journal has brought all the grandeur of the Grand Canyon to print. The May issue features my images along with the tales of the trip as told by writer Dan Duane.

To accompany my photography, this Marmot-sponsored expedition was filmed by Josh Lowell of Big Up Productions and Peter Mortimer of Sender Films. The culmination of all this work will be featured on NBC's Jeep World of Adventure Sports, Saturday, June 14th at 3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT.
